I’m willing to have my career launched at Hong Kong University (the HKU). There’s no denying that the HKU’s mighty reputation catches the eyes of mainland students. But I have taken into account some more practical factors. First of all, Hong Kong has a combined culture of Chinese tradition and western influence. Such is also revealed in its education spirits. It calls for creativity, meanwhile, is more acceptable and friendly to me. Secondly, I would be there to expand my friend circle to an international range, so as to set up the basis for the corporation in the future enterprise. Thirdly, I would develop my interpersonal skills, which can put me in a favorable position in the future job markets.

My preference is to work with applied science, and that is why I aim to the electronic and computer engineering. I like the creative possibilities in the development of electronic products. The success of i-pod really fascinated me. I’m firmly convinced that it’s the new concept and the creative apply of modern technique that lead to revolution of any products. China, however, being the world’s largest manufactory, lacks the core technique currently. Therefore, my sincerest desire is to become an electronic engineer, devoting myself to exploiting the potential and sharpening the competitive edge of Chinese products.

I am looking forward to attending the HKU. I believe I can make a positive contribution to Hong Kong, to China. I hope that the HKU will give me the chance.
